By using Sane Host, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Service.

2.1 Personal Information

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, including:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and profile picture (from Google OAuth)
• Contact Information: Phone number for SMS notifications
• Property Information: Names, addresses, and details of your rental properties
• Guest Information: Names, phone numbers, and booking details of your guests

2.2 Calendar Data

We import and process calendar data from external platforms:

• Airbnb iCal feeds
• VRBO iCal feeds
• Google Calendar feeds
• Other iCal-compatible calendar sources you connect

2.3 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers or banking information. Stripe may collect and store payment information in accordance with their privacy policy.

2.4 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use our Service:

• IP address and browser type
• Pages visited and features used
• Date and time of access
• Device information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Provide the Service: Aggregate calendars, send notifications, generate guest messages
• SMS Notifications: Send booking reminders, check-in/check-out alerts, and cleaning schedules

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information.

For Canadian Residents (PIPEDA)

Canadian residents have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you have concerns about our data practices.

If you provide a mobile phone number and opt in, Sane Host sends operational text messages (SMS) related to your account and the properties you manage. This section describes that program.

14.1 Types of Messages

• Account holders: morning and evening agenda briefs, check-in/check-out reminders, and — if you enable it — relays of time-sensitive guest messages from your booking platforms.
• Cleaners and team members: alerts when a cleaning schedule a host shares with them changes.

These are transactional, account-related messages. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

14.2 Consent and Opt-In

We only send SMS to a number after opt-in. An account holder adds their own number and agrees to receive messages in their notification settings. A cleaner’s or team member’s number is added by the host, who confirms that person has agreed to receive schedule updates. Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.

14.3 Opt-Out and Help

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for assistance, or contact support@sane-host.com. Account holders can also remove their number in notification settings. Message frequency varies based on your account activity. Message and data rates may apply.

14.4 Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent data are shared only with our messaging provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of delivering the messages you have requested, and are never sold.
